Today I am taking you to a place that I have continued to visit for several years: the travelling fair of contemporary art and high-altitude design, NOMAD in St. Moritz. This year the Alps, winter in the mountains, and the warmth of a chalet and wood have been the leitmotif of most of the proposals, of which I will tell you some of my favourites.

IL LUNARIO DEL SOLE

“Il Lunario del Sole” is a project that represents twelve anthropomorphic suns each dedicated to a month. The cover of the Lunario del Sole becomes the largest and most precious tapestry, created in collaboration with A Collection, a project association that combines contemporary art with the ancient technique of tapestries and technology. The main materials with which it was made are recycled plastic threads and organic yarns to combine art with respect for the environment

LORO PIANA INTERIORS

Loro Piana Interiors presents an incredible collection of interiors for this year’s NOMAD project, The Delight Chair St Moritz, the seats created by Paola Navone. Internationally renowned Turin designer and architect imagines a deluxe version of the director chair suitable for maintaining its practicality and comfort. From the mahogany wood structure, resistant and also suitable for atmospheric agents, to the folding function of the chair, up to the design of the back and seat made of cashmere and wool. Certainly, these Made in Italy furnishings reflect the DNA and philosophy of Loro Piana, enhancing its refinement and preciousness, as well as functionality. A detail that is exemplified only by the feet of the seat made with non-slip white soles, which distinguish the iconic Loro Piana shoes.

NOMAD SAINT MORITZ

Oggi vi porto in un posto che da diversi anni continuo a visitare: la fiera itinerante di arte contemporanea e del design ad alta quota, Il NOMAD a St. Moritz. Quest’anno le Alpi, l’inverno in montagna, il calore di un chalet e il legno sono stati il filo conduttore della maggior parte delle proposte, di cui ve ne racconto alcune delle mie preferite.

IL LUNARIO DEL SOLE

“Il Lunario del Sole” è un progetto che rappresenta dodici soli antropomorfi ciascuno dedicato ad un mese. La copertina del Lunario del Sole diventa l’arazzo più grande e prezioso, realizzato in collaborazione con A Collection, progetto-associazione che coniuga l’arte contemporanea con l’antica tecnica degli arazzi e la tecnologia. I materiali principali con cui è stato realizzato sono fili di plastica riciclata e filati organici per unire l’arte con il rispetto dell’ambiente.

Loro Piana Interiors presenta per il progretto del NOMAD di quest’anno un’incredibile collezione di interni, The Delight Chair St Moritz, le sedute realizzate da Paola Navone. Designer e architetto torinese di fama internazionale immagina una versione deluxe della sedia director adatta a mantenere la sua praticità e il comfort. Dalla struttura in legno di mogano, resistente e adatta anche agli agenti atmosferici, alla funzionalità pieghevole della sedia, fino ad arrivare al design dello schienale e della seduta realizzati in cashmere e lana. Certamente questi arredi Made in Italy rispecchiano il DNA e la filosofia di Loro Piana, esaltandone la raffinatezza e la preziosità, nonchè la funzionalità. Un dettaglio che ne è esempio solo i piedini della seduta realizzati con suole bianche antiscivolo, che contraddistinguonp le iconiche scarpe di Loro Piana.
